Dover Elevators (M) Sdn Bhd was set up in 1994 under the name of Intermet Engineering Sdn Bhd to be the sole distributor of Dover brand of elevators and escalators in Malaysia. In November 1996, Dover Elevator Systems Inc. of USA via its wholly owned regional headquarters known as Dover Elevators Asia Pacific Co Ltd took up a 30% equity in Intermet Engineering Sdn Bhd and the company name was subsequently changed to Dover Elevators (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd to reflect the interests of Principal in USA. Doverâ€™s Elevator Systems Inc. USA was a division of a highly diversified Dover Corporation USA which has operating divisions in industries such as defense/aerospace, communications, electronics, vapour recovery etc.
